Front row in the last, sold out performance of “A Civil War Christmas” musical, which was basically Love Actually in the civil war. Not a fan of liberal gender-blind casting. Also, old-timey 1800s American historical fiction isn’t my favorite genre. But it was alright. ‘murica y’all! — attending A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration at Taproot Theatre.
After waiting 2 hrs for standby tickets (for the 2nd time), I finally got matinee seats to the sold out musical stage adaptation of Howl’s Moving Castle. So worth it! Such an intricate story. I’ll excuse the fire evacuation interruption in the middle and the liberal use of triple-role casting. — attending Howl’s Moving Castle, a new musical at Book-It Repertory Theatre.
Whew! Finished performing last Christmas concert (of nine!) with the Seattle Men’s Chorus. “Oh, I hope you have a super gay Christmas!” — attending A Sassy Brassy Holiday at Benaroya Hall.
Attended the last sold out performance of Crazy for You (musical). Despite the distracting mustache malfunction and the small stage, these kids were pretty amazing. Those tap dance skills though … wow! — attending Crazy for You at Village Theatre.
Before the sold out Everett show of the Seattle Men’s Chorus waiting for the house to open. — attending A Sassy Brassy Holiday – Everett at Historic Everett Theatre Preservation Society.
Watched Annie the Musical – saccharine story of a creepy billionaire’s obsession with an orphan girl. Lead actress had a great voice but where’d yo groovy 70s afro go gurl?! — attending Annie – Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 / 7:30pm at Seattle Musical Theatre.
Onstage between today’s 2 concerts in Tacoma for the Seattle Men’s Chorus. — attending Seattle Men’s Chorus: A Sassy Brassy Holiday – 7:30 p.m. at Rialto Theater (Tacoma, Washington).
Watched Elf: The Musical. Closest I’ve ever sat at Paramount Theatre! Coming from a guy who tends to like superficial musicals, I thought the writing could use more substance (but what do you expect from an xmas-themed show). Despite that, the performers and the set were amazing! — attending Elf The Musical at Paramount Theatre.
Watched the stage production of Holiday Inn Movie with dad. Delightful old-fashioned Christmas-y musical featuring classic Irving Berlin songs. As always, loved the tap dancing! Thanks for the free tickets Seattle Men’s Chorus and The 5th Avenue Theatre. — attending Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn at The 5th Avenue Theatre.
Attended an afternoon matinee of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (musical) across Puget Sound with Raymund. Never saw the movie and didn’t know it was kid-centric. ? Well performed but inwardly rolled my eyes several times. — attending Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at Bainbridge Performing Arts.
