Opening night to the Seattle premier of Harvey Fierstein’s play “Casa Valentina.” Intriging piece about a B&B for cross-dressers. Great monologues. Abrupt ending but well-written overall.
Watched the terribly corny play “Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery.” Five actors portrayed 35 characters. Liked how one of the main characters was Texan. Represent!
Previewed the Tony Award-winning play Oslo. Political/historical references to the Palestinian-Israeli crisis frequently went over my head. But great dialogue & frequent scene changes engaged my attention throughout this 3 hr (2 intermission) show.
Attended the stage play adaptation of A Thousand Splendid Suns. The portrayal of misogynist tyranny in Afganistan was like watching a Taliban Lifetime special (in a good way). Guys are born with so much privilege.
Watched “The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes.” A regular guy’s life turns into a musical (aka my-dream-come-true). Incredible talent and set but plot was kinda lacking.
