Watched “The Rules of Charity,” a play shedding light on the handicap experience. Riveting, brilliantly-executed, & well-written dialogue. Fantastic climactic fight choreography. But it’s a shame I couldn’t decipher the play’s message.
Watched the play “Queen” this weekend. There’s dubious ethics in the peer-reviewed primary literature world! Even with the dry synopsis, it was pretty interesting. Loved the scenes of heightened emotion.
Dinner theatre watching the Korean American love triangle play “Persimmon Nights.” Good easy-to-follow story, classy jazz standards, family-style 5-course meal, & a hot-as-hell room — attending Persimmon Nights at Cafe Nordo.
Attended Antony and Cleopatra unaware that it was a staged reading/talkback of a William Shakespeare play (Ugh, flashback to English lit). I’ve gotta read the synopsis before going to these things. Interestingly, they attempted translating the verse to more modern English. — attending The Other Season: Antony and Cleopatra at Seattle Repertory Theatre.
Watched the play How I Learned to Drive. Amazing how the playwright/actors created a disarming pedophile that evoked both disgust & sympathy. Complex, ambiguous, and unconventional. I so wish there was a talkback!
