Attended Antony and Cleopatra unaware that it was a staged reading/talkback of a William Shakespeare play (Ugh, flashback to English lit). I’ve gotta read the synopsis before going to these things. Interestingly, they attempted translating the verse to more modern English. — attending The Other Season: Antony and Cleopatra at Seattle Repertory Theatre.
Watched William Shakespeare’s tragic play Macbeth. Old english made it difficult to follow especially with no set changes between scenes and double/tripple/quadruple role casting. Nice blood effects and beheading though.
Opening night to the play Proof by David Auburn. For such dull subject matter (math) and no set changes, I was surprised how good it was. Kinda reminded me of A Beautiful Mind.
Evening performance of the play “Familiar.” Hilarious relatable commentary on first-generation immigrant cultural identity after American assimilation. And of course in typical Seattle fashion, there was brief nudity out of nowhere. ? — attending Familiar at Seattle Repertory Theatre.
World premiere of “The Great Leap” play. Chinese American basketball player stars in a USA vs communist China game held during the Tiananmen Square Massacre. Not a fan of sports and politics but this was sooo so good! — attending a performance at Seattle Repertory Theatre.
