Village Theatre’s last performance of Disney’s “Freaky Friday” stage musical adaptation. Typical generic feel of a made-for-tv movie on the Disney Channel. Good songs and harmony though.
Disney’s “The Lion King” musical sold out run at Paramount Theatre. Costumes, set, & music were AMAZING but show didn’t live up to the hype. Puppetry isn’t a great stage medium & animals aren’t good stage characters. Also too kid-friendly.
Watched the coming-of-age LGBT play “Beautiful Thing” (basis for the movie) at Slate Theater. Delighted that it was entirely in cockney accent! Not too thrilled that it was mostly dialogue & no action.
Watched my favorite Andrew Lloyd Weber musical, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Probably the best Seattle Musical Theatre production I’ve seen so far. It’s rare that I smile this much at a show. ? Garrett Dill & Claire Idstroms were awesome leads. But the “Joseph Megamix” encore was too cheesy.
World-premier jukebox musical adaptation of Clint Black’s country xmas album “Looking for Christmas” with Eyal at The Old Globe Theatre. Heartwarming story reminded me of Lifetime & Hallmark TV movies. Talented actors needed to work on optimal stage blocking. Kids were annoying.
