Patricia Barber dinner show at The Triple Door w/ Midori. While I love listening to jazz as background music, I don’t understand it as the “main course” in a live concert. Rendition of “I Could Have Danced” was a pleasant surprise though.
Hershey Felder’s sold out “Monsieur Chopin” at Seattle Repertory Theater. Talented pianist performed songs (including a nocturne I can play) from my favorite composer. Surprised there were no etudes though.
Rain, lightning, picnic, & Diana Krall outdoor concert w/ Sam at Chateau Ste Michelle Winery. Thought there’d be more vocals & less instrumentals. Funny when she said, “Oh is it raining? I understand if you gotta leave.”
Seattle Symphony & Troupe Vertigo’s “Cirque Goes Broadway” w/ dad at Benaroya Hall. Liked the idea of incorporating visuals w/ orchestra since concerts can be boring to watch. But slower, more obscure songs than expected made the circus acts less exciting. Outstanding singers though. #acrobatics
