Sold out show of the rock opera musical The Who’s Tommy. In true Seattle fashion, their casting was so gratuitously gender/color blind that 5 actors portrayed Tommy instead of 3. So confusing! Good production though.
Last performance of Legally Blonde the Musical. Mics should have more volume. Slower tempo than other productions I’ve seen. Supporting cast was strong (more than main characters). Huge unrealized potential here!
Second time watching The Phantom of the Opera. Didn’t connect the dark “angel of music” to Lucifer (thanks Samantha). Appalling anti-feminism. Cool special effects (esp fire).
Watched Shrek the Musical. The actress that played the dragon was out of this world! Funny how they made Little Red Riding Hood’s wolf a cross dresser.
Watched Disenchanted – A New Musical Comedy, a parody of Disney princesses. Huge stage. Funny but borderline corny. Loved the Mulan’s lesbian bit. — attending Disenchanted! at 12th Avenue Arts.
