“Howl’s Moving Castle” musical w/ Book- It Repertory Theatre. Quality better than the original 2017 production. Probably would have enjoyed it much more if I saw the book or movie.
“Cabaret the Musical” w/ Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society. Professional quality talent. This season’s hidden gem of Seattle’s local theatre scene. Intimate immersive feel of a cabaret captured in 12th Avenue Arts. #willkommen #Holocaust
Indian Ink Theatre Company’s “Mrs. Krishnan’s Party” w/ dad front row at Erickson Theatre. Terrifying anticipation of audience participation in this immersive interactive semi-improvised show. Novel incorporation of cooking daal (lentils) & rice for the audience to eat in the very limited plot where we celebrate Onam festival.
“Guys & Dolls” w/ dad at Village Theatre. Obviously a great production but too much genderblind casting … which fortunately offset some of the musical’s inherent misogyny! Love a good “opposites attract” story!
“Shout Sister Shout!” gospel musical w/ dad at Seattle Repertory Theatre. Dynamite music & voices! Takes me back to my conservative Southern religious upbringing. It’s unfortunate that church-inspired condemnation & guilt back then is still pervasive today.
