Opening night to the play “Art” w/ Tacoma Arts Live. Great actors but the attempts at humor were annoying. Good semi-climactic ending though. #NotFunny
Sat next to a group of bears at “Legally Blonde” the musical tour w/ Tacoma Arts Live at Pantages Theater. After seeing 5+ amateur versions, I’m surprised my 1st professional production had sparse sets, cheesy videos, & abridged songs. #OMGYouGuys #Harvard
Watched Cirque Eloize’s “Saloon” with Tacoma Arts Live at Pantages Theatre. Better than Cirque du Soleil but it was no Teatro ZinZanni. Corney comedic relief. Trailer was better than the real thing. #Circus #WildWildWest #Acrobatics
One-day-only run of Monty Python’s Tony Award-winning musical “Spamalot” w/ dad at Tacoma Arts Live in Pantages Theater. So close to the stage that I didn’t know where to look! English slapstick comedy. #AlwaysLookOnTheBrightSideOfLife #KingArthur #HolyGrail #Camelot
One-night-only prime seats to “Kinky Boots” national tour @ Tacoma Arts Live Pantages Theater. Fabulous fun musical about drag queens. Those dudes could sing high & kick even higher! But the show was loud, more than Paramount Theatre! #drag #sopranos
Watched “The Wizard of Oz” musical at the Pantages Theater in Siberia (aka Tacoma) amid the viaduct closure on a school night! For a national tour, it was no “Wicked” or “The Wiz.” Cheesy projections, corny writing, & “eh” music but great costumes & set. This friend of dorothy went over the rainbow!
Drove to Siberia to watch the Tony Awards-winning, Anton Chekhov-inspired play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Voodoo prophetess and douchey hot actor were a hoot. I could do without the bizzare climatic anti-millennial monologue though.
